If you live in the Nashville area or know someone who does, please consider coming out to The Daily Howl’s second show at The Rutledge. Prepare yourself for one of the best up-and-coming rock bands that you have the opportunity to see for only ten dollars a ticket before they get signed and famous and tickets to their arena shows cost about a hundred a pop! Honestly, just spread the word, and help us presell as many tickets as possible so they can lock in a time slot around 9pm again. You won’t regret it!
(if you want to buy in person to avoid the convenience charge, message their facebook page here.)
EPIC, TAG-TEAMED UPDATE
Hello, everyone out in tumblr! …land. Aaron here. I was prompted to write a new blog at the behest of our manager Hannah, who pointed out our last one was a year and a half ago. I would love to say that I’m not the least bit ashamed of our blog neglect, but like that starving puppy out back that you’re too lazy to feed, there’s just a twinge of guilt when you hear its whimpering. Your donation to the ASPCA says “I’m here to help.”
So many things have changed over the past year and a half. Firstly, Blake Burton permanently joined the band in January of 2011, and it’s no coincidence that we all feel sexier by proxy.
Since then new songs abound, the audiences continue to grow, and thanks to the addition of Hannah Downs (our manager with great organization skills, although terrible foot odor…I made up the foot odor part; just wanna see if she actually reads this stuff), we’ve been branching out into Knoxville, gotten further up on the Johnson City totem pole, and have made a killer EP featuring several of the newer songs (written over the past year). Now allow me to pass off to my older brother Matthew, who will enlighten you as to our future plans…GOOOOO TEAM!
AND NOW ENTERING THE RING AT ONE HUNDRED THIRTY POUNDS, FIVE SEVEN, AND WITH A REALLY HIGH PITCHED GIGGLE, THE TORRENT OF TAMENESS, THE COLOSSUS OF CAU
TION, THE PRINCE OF THE POMPADOUR — MATTHEEEEEEW CAAAAAAATES.
Awww shucks! What a nice introduction! You shouldn’t have!
As you may have noticed, we’re starting to get our merch operation up and running. We have CDs and stickers, and soon we will have real t-shirts! As I speak, we are savagely beating our factory of Indonesian child workers to come up with designs. Unfortunately we’ve already broken most of their hands, so they’re unable to draw. THAT’S WHERE YOU COME IN! We’re proud to announce the creation of The Daily Howl’s first t-shirt designing contest! Upload designs to our Facebook wall! If you win, we’ll give you a cash prize, AND we’ll use your design. Plus, unlike our Indonesian child laborers, you’ll get to keep your fingers! That’s a deal you simply can’t beat. No pun intended.
In other news spring is right around the corner, which means Blue Plum isn’t too far off! We should be making our reprise at one of the stages! Stay tuned for updates.
Speaking of festivals, we’ve applied to Bonnaroo! So keep your eyes peeled! You never know what might happen!
Speaking of Bonnaroo (nice transitions huh?), We’ve been more than lucky to call Johnson City home for the past couple of years, but we’re actually all from Nashville, and we love Nashville too, which is why this summer we plan to play there as often as possible! So, Nashville friends keep up with us — and request us on Lightning100. Sooner or later, they’ll have to give in.
As for the immediate future, we’ll be playing TWLOHapalooza on St. Patty’s day! We’ll be in Knoxville at the Preservation Pub on the 24th — first gig in Knoxville, very exiting! And then we’ll be kicking off April with the blues at Misty Blues and Jazz on the first Friday in April.
That about does it for me. Thanks again for reading our offensive crap, taking our demos, and continually coming out to see our shows. Your support is phenomenal.
